1. About these terms
By using FTVDB (the “site”), you agree to the terms below. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. These terms may be updated from time to time. The “last updated” date above reflects the current version.
2. What the service is
FTVDB is a community-driven reference library that indexes publicly accessible update URLs for Amazon devices and the metadata around them. The site records links and information about those links. It does not host firmware images, application packages, copyrighted update files, device backups, or account data. Following a record takes you to a third-party location that FTVDB does not operate or control.
3. No affiliation and trademarks
FTVDB is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Amazon.com, Inc. or any of its subsidiaries. Product and brand names such as “Fire TV,” “Fire Tablet,” “Kindle,” “Echo,” and “Fire OS” are the trademarks of their respective owners and are used only to describe the devices that records relate to.
4. Acceptable use
FTVDB is intended for documentation, repair research, and the preservation of public update history. You agree not to use the site or its data to engage in or promote piracy, distribution of paid or copyrighted content, circumvention of device security, credential sharing, or any unlawful activity. You are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to you and with the terms of any device or service you use.
5. Third-party links and no warranty
The site and its data are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. FTVDB does not guarantee that any record, link, or piece of metadata is accurate, current, complete, safe, or fit for any particular purpose, and it does not control third-party destinations that links may point to. Any action you take based on information found here is at your own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, FTVDB and its maintainers are not liable for any damages arising from use of the site or its data.
6. Contributions
Contributors submit URLs they observed on devices they own or maintain. By submitting, you confirm the link is public and was genuinely observed, and that you are not including private credentials, account data, or other personal information. Submissions are reviewed and may be validated, normalized, grouped with existing records, or rejected. Submitting a link does not guarantee publication.
7. Rights-holder requests
If you are a rights holder and believe a location linked from FTVDB infringes your rights, contact support@ftvdb.com with enough detail to identify the specific record. Requests are reviewed and answered promptly, and records are updated or removed where appropriate.
8. Contributor opt-out
If you originally captured a URL and do not want it included, email support@ftvdb.com to request removal. Proof that you were the first to capture the URL may be requested so that records cannot be removed by someone who did not collect them. Matching URLs may still be accepted if another person captured them independently or earlier, or if the original capturer later grants permission.
9. Open data
Public snapshots of the database are published to the FTVDB GitHub repository. Any reuse of that data is subject to the license stated in the repository and to applicable law.
10. Privacy
Use of the site is also governed by the Privacy Policy, which explains the cookieless analytics in use and how advertising may use cookies.
11. Contact
