How FTVDB handles limited technical, advertising, submission, and contact data.

Last updated July 12, 2026

Overview

FTVDB is an independent project maintained by Ighor. You can browse the site without creating an account or providing your name. The site and its service providers still process limited data when your browser requests a page, sends a submission, loads an external resource, or displays an ad.

Hosting and security

FTVDB is delivered through Cloudflare. Cloudflare and other infrastructure providers may process an IP address, the requested URL, the date and time, browser and device information, request headers, and diagnostic or security events. This processing is needed to deliver the site, keep it reliable, and prevent fraud, malicious traffic, and abuse. These providers handle and retain technical data under their own policies and operational requirements. Learn more in the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

Analytics

We use Plausible Analytics in cookieless mode to understand aggregate traffic and improve the site. Plausible processes the requested page, referring page, browser, operating system, device type, and approximate location. It also processes the IP address and user agent to create a daily changing identifier. Under Plausible's documented design, the raw IP address and full user agent are not stored, and the identifier cannot be used to follow a visitor across different days. Learn more in the Plausible Data Policy.

Advertising

We may use Google AdSense on selected editorial pages. Third-party vendors, including Google and advertising partners involved in an ad, may use cookies to serve ads based on a visitor's prior visits to FTVDB or other websites. Google and those partners may process IP addresses, cookie or device identifiers, browser and device information, approximate location, and page or ad interactions. They may use this data to select and personalize ads where allowed, limit repeated ads, measure and report ad performance, and prevent fraud and abuse. Third parties may place or read cookies in a browser or use web beacons and similar technologies as part of ad delivery and measurement.

Ads are shown only on editorial sections of the site, such as the homepage, About, FAQ, and blog pages. Ads are not intentionally shown on database records, update summaries, API examples, submission forms, search pages, or pages that display external source URLs.

Google explains its advertising technologies in How Google uses cookies in advertising and explains how it processes information from publisher sites in How Google uses data from partner sites. You can manage personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings or opt out of some participating vendors through WebChoices.

Regional consent

When Google advertising is configured for visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, FTVDB must use a Google-certified consent management platform that integrates with the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework. If a regional consent message appears, its controls let you make choices about cookies, local storage, personalized advertising, and the related collection, sharing, and use of personal data. Google and participating vendors receive the consent choices needed to determine which advertising services may operate. Learn more about Google's consent management requirements.

External fonts

Pages load font stylesheets and font files from Google Fonts. Google receives standard network request data, including an IP address and browser information, when it delivers those resources. Google handles that data under the Google Privacy Policy.

Submissions

When you submit a URL, FTVDB processes it to validate, review, and potentially publish it as a database record. A name, email address, or account is not required, and FTVDB does not intentionally associate a submission with a person's identity. As with any web request, hosting and submission infrastructure may process an IP address and standard request metadata to deliver the request and protect the service. Accepted URLs and the resulting public metadata may be retained while they remain useful to the project.

Contact email

If you email FTVDB, the project receives your email address and any name, message, attachments, or other information you choose to include. This information is used to answer the message, investigate a report, process a rights-holder or contributor request, keep necessary records, and prevent abuse. Email providers process the message to deliver and store it. Contact information is not published without permission unless publication or disclosure is required by law.

Retention

FTVDB retains information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose described here. Public metadata may remain available while it is useful to the project. Correspondence may be kept while a request is active and afterward when needed to document its resolution, protect legal rights, prevent repeated abuse, or meet legal obligations. Infrastructure, analytics, advertising, and email providers apply their own retention periods. Information may be kept longer when required by law or needed to resolve a dispute.

Your choices and rights

You can block or delete cookies through browser settings, use Google Ads Settings to turn off personalized advertising, and use any regional consent message that appears. Blocking cookies does not necessarily prevent non-personalized or limited ads. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection relating to personal data, or to complain to a data protection authority. FTVDB may need enough information to verify and answer a request.

Children

FTVDB is a technical reference intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. Do not send personal information about a child through a submission or email. Contact FTVDB if you believe a child has provided personal information so it can be reviewed and removed where appropriate.
