Alexa.com Expands to UK Alexa+ Early Access Customers
Amazon's July 20 UK rollout gives Alexa+ Early Access customers browser access to chats, smart home controls, calendars, lists, uploaded files, and Fire TV recommendation recall.
Amazon has expanded Alexa.com to Alexa+ Early Access customers in the UK, giving them a typed browser interface for the assistant alongside Echo devices and the Alexa app.
The UK announcement was published on July 20, 2026. Alexa.com itself is not new worldwide. Amazon first announced the browser experience for Alexa+ Early Access customers on January 5, 2026. The current news is its regional expansion to the UK.
That distinction matters. This is not a new Echo or Fire TV device, and it is not a worldwide Alexa+ launch. It is a device-service rollout that gives eligible UK accounts another way to work with Alexa and connected smart home hardware.
What UK customers can do in the browser
Alexa.com supports typed requests for quick answers, research, content creation, and everyday tasks. Amazon says users can manage to-do lists and calendars, control their smart home, make restaurant reservations, and plan meals from a browser.
The web interface also accepts uploaded documents, emails, and images. Alexa+ can extract details, add information to a calendar, and recall information later. Smart home controls appear next to the chat, allowing users to check a doorbell or camera, adjust lights and thermostats, and control other connected devices without using voice commands.
Amazon says chats, preferences, and personalisation can carry across supported Alexa surfaces. Early Access customers can open recent chats in Alexa.com and continue conversations that started on an Echo device or in the Alexa app.
This makes the browser more than a simple question-and-answer page. It becomes another interface for the same account-level Alexa+ service used around the home.
How Echo and Fire TV fit into the rollout
Amazon gives two concrete examples of device continuity.
An Alexa.com user can review a schedule from a computer and later see upcoming items on an Echo Show. Recent conversations from Echo devices or the Alexa app can also be reopened in the browser.
For Fire TV, Amazon describes a narrower entertainment workflow. A customer can explore films and recommendations on Alexa.com, then ask Alexa to recall those suggestions on Fire TV when it is time to watch.
The announcement does not describe a Fire TV firmware change, a new Fire OS or Vega OS feature, or new hardware. It also does not establish that every browser task can be handed off to Fire TV. The confirmed Fire TV connection is the ability to recall entertainment suggestions made through Alexa+.
Availability remains limited
The browser rollout applies to UK customers who already have Alexa+ Early Access. Amazon says those customers can visit Alexa.com while signed in to their Amazon account and use Alexa+ from a web browser.
This does not mean that every Alexa account in the UK has access. Eligibility still depends on admission to the Alexa+ Early Access programme. It also does not expand Alexa.com to every country where Alexa devices are sold.
The staged release is important for device owners. Two people with similar Echo or Fire TV hardware may see different Alexa+ capabilities because their accounts or regions have different access, even when their installed device software is the same.
Why the browser matters for Amazon devices
Alexa has traditionally been experienced through hardware such as Echo speakers, Echo Show displays, Fire TV devices, and connected smart home products. Alexa.com adds a computer to that group without replacing the existing devices.
Some tasks are naturally easier to review on a larger screen. Calendars, shopping lists, uploaded files, chat history, and groups of smart home controls can be easier to scan and edit from a computer than through a voice-only interaction.
The rollout also shows why Amazon device history increasingly includes cloud services and regional access. Firmware remains important, but account-level services can now change how a device fits into a wider workflow without changing the software build installed on it.
For UK Alexa+ Early Access customers, the immediate change is straightforward. Alexa is now available through a browser, recent conversations can continue across Echo, the Alexa app, and the web, and entertainment ideas found online can be recalled on Fire TV.
What to watch next
Amazon has not announced when Alexa.com will leave Early Access in the UK or when access will expand to more UK Alexa accounts. It has also not published a country-by-country schedule for the browser experience.
The next useful details will be broader availability, any differences between browser and Alexa app controls, and support for additional cross-device actions. Those changes will determine whether Alexa.com becomes a standard part of the Alexa device experience or remains tied to a limited rollout.
